The Green Mountains dance from South to North across the whole of Vermont but produce their highest drama in the Stowe-Smugglers’ Notch Region. Shelburne Museum is one of the nation’s most eclectic museums of art, Americana, and design, displaying over 150,000 objects on 45 acres in Vermont's beautiful Lake Champlain Valley. Collections of folk art, decorative arts, tools, toys, and textiles, are exhibited as are American paintings and Impressionist masterpieces by Monet, Manet, Degas, and others. The museum's 25 historic New England buildings include period houses, a lighthouse, and a 220-foot paddlewheel steamboat. New exhibits in 2006 include paintings by Georgia O'Keeffe, the art of Tasha Tudor, contemporary Knoll design, and kaleidoscope quilts.

Trapp Family Lodge Brewery

Traditional Austrian-style lagers craft brewed at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. True to European tradition, Trapp lagers are produced using decoction mashing and are cold aged for weeks at a time. Brewed in accordance with Reinheitsgebot, the German beer purity law of 1516, using Vermont mountain spring water from the von Trapp estate, the finest imported barley, whole flower hops and lager yeast. Trapp lagers are available on tap and by the bottle at the Trapp Family Lodge and select venues.
