Southern Vermont Campgrounds near Stratton, Mount Snow, Manchester welcome you

A stay at a campgrounds is a great way for outdoors-loving people, including children and families, to enjoy a vacation at a reasonable cost. Southern Vermont, which includes the towns of Mount Snow, Bennington, Brattleboro, and Manchester, is awash in beautiful state parks, and most have public camping accommodations. Hike, swim, canoe, bike, and enjoy your favorite outdoors activities surrounded by beautiful mountain and lakeside scenery. In addition to tent camping some VT parks also feature day use shelters, cabins and cottages. Camping in Southern Vermont state parks is seasonal.

Park has two camping areas of 23 trailer or tent site and 11 lean-to sites. Bathrooms with showers. Pavilion for up to 60 people with electricity, grill, and tables, is for rent. Townshend State Park is at the foot of Bald Mountain. It is known for its rustic and close-to-nature camping atmosphere. The wooded campground has 30 tent or trailer sites and 4 lean-to sites. Two bathrooms (one with showers); a picnic shelter with a fireplace and three tables. The park looks has a picnic area, hiking trails, and a campground with tent platforms. Because of the size and layout of the park, there is a limit of 6 people and one vehicle per site. This park is on a high plateau, in a wooded area with nearby lakes and ponds. The wooded campground has 103 sites. Flush toilets, hot showers for a fee, and a dump station are provided. Located on a lake and near the Long and Appalachian trails, this park is popular for water sports and hiking. The park surrounds 20-acre Emerald Lake. One hundred campsites and lean-to sites are on the wooded ridge above Emerald Lake. Flush toilets, hot showers, and dump station are provided. Fort Dummer State Park is a sweet, small camping park an easy weekend drive from New York City and Boston. It is near the historic and culture-rich town of Brattleboro, always a fun visit. The park is along the Molly Stark Byway and the Connecticut River Byway. The campground has 50 tent or trailer sites and 10 lean-to sites and two bathrooms with hot showers. There is a sanitary dump station, but no hookups. Campers also can enjoy at picnic area, hiking trails and a playing field. - Campground Map (PDF)

Lake Shaftsbury State Park is on Lake Shaftsbury. Lodging includes a furnished waterfront cottage with deck and grill and a group camping area with lean-tos.
