Jaw-dropping views will compete with the 18 holes when you play resort’s famous course

You can’t blame golfers for stopping to admire the view when they play the full-service 18-hole championship course at the Lake Morey Resort. Sand traps, water hazards and well-guarded greens make up the par 70, 6,024-yard course that begins with a fairly flat front nine, then gives way to a mountainous back nine with jaw-dropping views. The course’s full 18 holes have been in operation since 1929 with a redesign in 1989. Irrigated fairways and greens and an efficient drainage system mean it plays consistently well throughout the season. It’s not surprising, then, that it has been, for over 50 years, home of the Vermont Open. Group lessons, junior clinics and private instruction are offered by PGA pros. Stop at The Clubhouse for a beverage and lunch.
