Guided Adventures in Vermont

A guided tour on land or lake can take you to the heart of Vermont’s outdoor treasures

The outdoor beauty of Vermont is no mystery; all you need to do is be there and look up – at the towering mountains and shimmering lakes. The question that may arise is how to get yourself equipped and ready to scale mountains, drive a snowmobile or ATV into the mountain trails, or find a fishing spot on Lake Champlain. This is where experienced guides can pick you up and carry you into a fresh adventure with expert knowledge of the area.

Guided tours are available for a wide range of adventures, like hiking and snowshoeing, mountain biking, snowmobiling and ATV rides, dog sledding, sport fishing, bird watching and nature observation. Expert guides are just that: experts. They usually can provide equipment; get you to your trail head or launch site; and move you through the steps of the sport or exploration. It is a wonderful resource for newbies who want to try something they have never attempted before. The extra little zing in the picture is that guides are often sociable and talkative characters who can pour into your ears some stories and yarns about the place, the people, the early folkways, and previous happenings on the very trails you are exploring. A group of friends or family can plan a guided tour as a way to highlight a vacation, enjoy a new experience, and take home an extra parcel of wonderful memories.
