You could make the case that everywhere you look in this part of Vermont is a scenic drive
To begin, a qualifier: Everywhere is a scenic drive in the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. But there are some particularly scenic or noteworthy spots. The 51-mile Northeast Kingdom Byway introduces you to Saint Johnsbury, Lyndon and Newport, with stunning views and a multitude of outdoor recreational activities. Or take a covered-bridge tour: The Columbia bridge in Lemington crosses the Connecticut River and the Island Pond bridge in Brighton crosses the railroad tracks. The Randall covered bridge crosses the east branch of the Passumpsick River and was built in 1865. But you might also just want to drive through the area’s charming towns and villages, with farmer’s markets, crafts shops, cultural venues, craft beer breweries, scenic picnic spots and restaurants.
