A celebration of New World French American and Celtic music brought to northern New England by English, Scottish, Irish and French-Canadian immigrants. More than 70 of the best Celtic and Franco-American musicians from throughout New England, Quebec, Ireland and Scotland will play, teach, dance and trade tunes and stories. Concerts, music and dance workshop sessions, children's activities, and open dancing unfold on five continuous stages from noon until midnight. Food and drink are provided by the area's finest chefs and breweries. This year's performers include Cantrip, Prydein, Rapetipetam, Claude Methe, John Doyle, the No Strings Marionette Company, and many more. Time: Noon. The Abenaki People of the State of Vermont invite the public to a four-day celebration of Abenaki history, culture and tradition through a series of demonstrations, discussions, and films. Event includes a 17th-century Abenaki encampment, food, crafts demonstrations, traditional music, songs, stories, and dance. Vermont Morgan Heritage Days hosts two competitions open to all breeds at the show, Dressage and Carriage Driving. On July 3, the Vermont Morgan Horse Association presents the 2009 VMHA Breeders' Futurity for Yearlings, Two and Three Year Olds. This competition showcases promising young Morgan horses at the beginning of their careers. On July 4, Heritage Days presents the Morgan Stallion Exhibition, a noncompetitive event reminiscent of an older time in Vermont when owners would gather to present their stallions as examples of the Morgan breed. The Vermont Summer Festival Horse Shows are a chance for equestrians to spend July and August in the towns of the Manchester & the Mountains area, noted for their charm, first class accommodations, world-class dining and excellent show facilities. The Harold Beebe Farm is the host for the six weeks of competition. The show grounds boast five all-weather rings, including one of the largest Grand Prix fields in New England, as well as several all weather schooling and riding areas, permanent wash racks, paddocks and extended trails for casual enjoyment.
