Vermont - Cross Country Skiing
Vermont Cross Country Skiing
The Nordic skiing tradition in Vermont extends back over one hundred years. Brought to the region by Scandinavians the activity today is a great way to enjoy the winter outdoors regardless of the weather. Cross country ski areas feature wide groomed trails that meander through woods, across fields and along fantastic ice encrusted streams. These areas rent equipment and can instruct you so you’ll be on your way in minutes. As with downhill skiing trails are marked and graded according to difficulty so beginners can thoroughly enjoy their initial experience. Most trails are wide enough to accommodate skating as well as classical style cross country skiing. The cost for this great experience is low can even be free at parks and on the property of many lodgings.
So pack a lunch, some wine, and a camera and head out for a wonderful winter adventure on skis.
