The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) maintains and regulates the trail system throughout the state. There are over 5,000 miles of trails through mountains, meadows, and along waterways. The VAST system marks trails and issues printed maps that also help you locate trailheads. Services along the system such as fuel and food locations are also noted. To snowmobile in Vermont you need a trail pass and valid state registration. Check the VAST website for additional information. Opening day for the trails is December 19, 2005. There are also numerous snowmobile rental and guide services that are a great way of discovering the family fun and enjoyment of this activity.

These trails run throughout the state, and are maintained by the Vermont Association of Snow Mobilers and local snowmobile clubs. All visitors who wish to ride their snowmobiles must register them with the state and join the Vermont Association of Snow Mobilers, as well as a local club. In addition to Alpine skiing on four mountains Mount Snow features many other activities including tubing, snowmobile tours, snowshoeing and a full compliment of spa services. There are 145 trail, terrain parks, pipe and tubing park. There are 23 lifts and a vertical drop of 1,700 feet.
