A traditional christmas in stowe VT Named a Top 10 Winter Event by Vermont Chamber of Commerce, this festival includes a lantern parade with carols on Main Street, a tree lighting, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Stowe Mercantile, music by Root7 accapella group, Santa's reindeer on the Village Green, wagon rides, a Festival of Trees & Light at the Helen Day Art Center, a Welcome to Winter for kids by the local recreation department, and ice skating.
Stowe Community Church Christmas Fair is on Saturday. Also come to enjoy cookie decorating, "It's a Wonderful Life" party, gingerbread house decorating, artisan pop-up stores, and a live performance of “Every Christmas Story Ever Told” by the Stowe Theatre Guild.

Wassail Weekend The centerpiece of the weekend of old-time Christmas events is the Equestrian Wassail Parade through the center of Woodstock with 50 horses and riders dressed in holiday costumes and 19th-century dress (2 p.m. on Saturday).
Other events include a Christmas tree lighting, carols, burning of the Yule log, house tours, readings of traditional Christmas stories, visits to Billings Farms & Museum to see a traditional Christmas on the Farm, a production of Christmas with the Celts at Pentangle on Saturday at 8 p.m.
